Chunky is one of the three brother boys behind Tongberang’i Ngarrga Inc, and is passionate about the practice of connecting to culture through dance music, and bringing the whole community along for the journey - one dance floor at a time!
Brought up on a mixture of 80’s synth pop like Depeche Mode, New Order, The Models through to Australian bands like Midnight Oil, Divinyls, Ice House and Classical music, it wasn't long until Chunky got into the early 90s electronic dance music and it’s newly forming scene. From here Luke developed a keen interest and love for the art of DJing. For Chunky, DJing is about the skill of seamlessly mixing music together to develop new sounds, progressions and musical moments to share with others, together as a community.
Chunky has played a range of club nights and outdoor parties over the years, and hosted the above mentioned radio programs and interviews with Brothers, and is a staple act at our organisations events and gatherings.
Not one for really being able to define his style or genre, his sets are full of high quality Techno, Tech House and Progressive sounds, encompassing smoothly layered melodies, tribal grooves, driving emotive bass-lines, engaging hooks, and minimalistic vocal samples.
